March 2026
What’s New?
Happy Almost Spring! The students have made amazing progress and continue to enjoy Kindergarten! We hope you all enjoyed the February break ☺. We are now in the home stretch of the school year! March is a busy month with assessments and putting all of the pieces of what we have learned together. The students are all doing amazing and we could not be more proud of them! Now, we are all just waiting anxiously for consistent spring weather! Students have begun to write their first and last names on their papers at school. Read Across America Day is Monday, March 2, 2026. In A101, Mrs. Lisa Elliott will read the students the book An Extraordinary Egg by Leo Lionni. Mrs. Elliott is Emmett’s grandma and we appreciate her reading to our class! She is very excited to come in and read our class a story. We are excited to have her! Many different community members will read stories to classes in our school on 3/2 in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. We will be doing fun activities throughout the day and during the week to honor and celebrate Dr. Seuss. ☺
Curriculum
This month, we will continue to learn about all blending sounds to read words. We will continue to practice writing letters as well. We will learn the sight words said, want, here, me, this and what. We will review all letters and sight words learned so far. We will continue to practice writing phonetically, writing sentences and on lines. We will be reviewing addition and starting subtraction and continue with number order. We will be talking about weather, animals, and community helpers. Please be sure to continue to practice reading with your child!! We have continued to learn how to segment and blend words and continuously review sight words. We will continue to send home the small paper and leveled books to practice reading weekly. Students get very excited when they fill their homework chart and get a prize from the prize bin!
